Go Ara, born in Jinju, South Gyeongsang, is a South Korean actress and model. At a young age, she constantly moved around Korea because her father was a soldier. When she was in junior high, she was recommended by a friend to audition for the talent agency SM Entertainment. In 2003, she became the winner of the SM Entertainment Teen Model Contest and made her acting debut in the 2003 television series, “Sharp #1.”

She left SM Entertainment on November 30th, 2016 after 13 years. She's now under Artist Company. On January 9,2023 it was announced that she has signed an exclusive contract with King Kong by Starship.
